Prato and its district represent one of Italy’s main manifacturing areas. The Idea Factory was launched because this territory has always been a hotbed of ideas, and now more than ever needs to concentrate on innovation and knowledge to foster new development and revitalisation processes.

The Idea Factory is based on strategic planning workshops (photo) that focus on specific geographical areas and cross cutting themes: the Montalbano, Prato’s historical center, the Bisenzio Valley, the manufacturing district (photos 1, 2, 3). The programme involves more than 250 key stakeholders through FUTOUR’s facilitation of participatory co-creation methods and tools.
The Idea Factory is promoted by the CNA of Prato with the support of the Chamber of Commerce and Province of Prato and the patronage of the Tuscany Region and all local municipalities.
