At a critical moment for environmental protection, FUTOUR stepped in to guide the coastal community through the challenges of sea-level rise and erosion. We supported a multidisciplinary working group to orchestrate a wide ecosystem of dialogue, both online and in person, connecting seemingly distant territories and visions. Our approach went beyond the technical management of meetings; it ignited the participants’ imagination, urging them to project themselves into tomorrow as “reporters from the future.” Through careful mapping of key actors and the creation of interactive discussion spaces, we transformed passive listening into a forge of ideas and shared responsibility.
A systemic vision emerged from the sessions, laying the groundwork for cutting-edge solutions like dune redevelopment and innovative barriers. FUTOUR’s added value was converting scientific complexity into concrete, shared actions, integrated directly into the regional coastal management strategy. The deepest impact lies in having stimulated the creation of a true “Coast Pact,” a participatory governance model uniting politics, businesses, and science in a common, lasting commitment. We demonstrated that deciding together is not only possible but is the key to strategic effectiveness.
