Address global gender disparities in research by co-designing strategic policy recommendations for a truly inclusive and innovative scientific ecosystem.
Together with the consortium GENDER-STI, we turned international dialogue into an innovation laboratory. Over 36 months, we orchestrated a process bringing together researchers, institutions, and leaders from Europe, America, Africa, and Asia to overcome gender gaps in Science, Technology, and Innovation. We guided participants beyond simple discussion, using a collaborative design approach to turn complex challenges into concrete solutions. Our role was to create a safe, creative dialogue space where fragmented visions coalesced into shared roadmaps. We facilitated global collective intelligence to move rapidly from problem definition to policy prototyping, ensuring every voice was heard in an unprecedented co-creation journey.
The impact goes beyond documentation. We produced a hands-on Methodological Handbook and organized global Innovation Labs that generated concrete prototypes for balancing gender in scientific leadership and gendered innovation. Most significantly, we directly influenced the new Horizon Europe funding program, establishing foundational parity policies that now guide research institutions worldwide. We transformed research into solid policy action, making gender equality a permanent pillar of global scientific innovation.
